Current Stats: Founded in 1991; Led by Managing Director Rich Henderson; 205 employees;  HQ in The Woodlands, TX; #1 concrete recycler in Texas.

Hobbies: Recycling Concrete, Asphalt and Sand Products throughout Southeast Texas; Building bikes for kids with local partner organization, Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association; Establishing a Hurricane Harvey recovery fund to help employees; Raising money for the local Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night event and the American Heart Association with their team for the Heart Walk

What’s Up: SCC saves 1.5 cubic yards of landfill space annually. The company actively participates in LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) projects as their recycled concrete is recognized as a creditable LEED item.

SCC’s internship program for Civil/Mining, Mechanical, and Environmental engineers develops and trains the next generation in the construction industry to ensure a sustainable future. SCC works diligently to manage over 100 permits with multiple regulatory agencies including TCEQ, MSHA, and The City of Houston to ensure no harm comes to the local environment.

Why We’re Smitten: SCC recycles locally produced resources without depleting natural resources and reducing emissions by minimizing transportation time.

Highway construction is a way of life in ever-growing Texas. We love that SCC has found a way to reduce emissions, decrease concrete in landfills, and preserve the natural resources generally utilized for concrete production.

We’re positive smitten with Southern Crushed Concrete’s positive impact on the construction industry.
